i heart scratchin on the dancefloor

so i went to see atrak last nite. tried to be megastoked, blame the haggardness of the previous nite lingering and the absence of my fist pumping dance partner, but i'll admit i wuznt anticipating much. feels like i've been to a lot of shows lately and maybe it's just me but i get bored of dancing and listening to the same beats on a regular.
Anyone can be a mixtape dj these days...all u need is the right program from you computer and itunes...maybe some cool friends to help u scam beats, it doesnt require skill. anyone who still throws down vinyl should be getting hyped. live vinly throw downs. no playlists. no premixin. live. nope, everyone's got a mac. (mainly only dubstep/dancehall/etc...and minimal dj'z still use vinly and live mixers). regardless, atrak deserves mad respect cuz he does have history made with his talent at the art of scratch, lots of people (music snobs) were megahating on homie last nite cuz he plays a lot of hype popular shit, even from pop genres like electro and techno...everyone wanted more hip hop. but what do u xpect??? he's linked with chromeo (that should xplain it all) floss (bombed their set here, such a disapointment, but hot sall the same) and kid sister...i mean lets not forget the ultimate hypester kanye. again, what did u expect. this isnt brooklyn, l.a., baltimore, it's fucking edmonton. he is not going to throw down some special set for the little city on the prairie. maybe if u go to his hometown on a random week nite he'll throw down a "special" set but he's gotta please the crowd and that means an easy pop set.
im not going to lie, there were a number of sick hip hop tracks mixed i remember dancing to them...alone, with one dude who i had to avoid eye contact with so he didnt think i wuz trying to pimp him up...but who can really have a hella time when get to dance to this???

old shit
